Samsung is set to offer cross-border payment support using Solana-based USDC on 82 million compatible Galaxy devices across the United States via Samsung Wallet. Announced by the Solana Foundation, this collaboration allows users to send digital dollars without the need for an additional crypto application.
Feature Set for October 2026 Rollout
The new feature is slated to go live in the last week of October 2026, leveraging the Solana blockchain infrastructure. Integrated fiat on-ramps and off-ramps will enable users to convert between the stablecoin and local currencies seamlessly.
Eligible users will be able to transfer USDC to compatible crypto wallets without incurring a transfer fee from Samsung. Additionally, there will be an option to send funds to eligible bank accounts in over 60 countries, although this will involve a transfer fee.

Samsung is collaborating with Coinbase and Bastion for custody and payment infrastructure, with USDC assets held on Coinbase Prime.
Samsung has also integrated the Sui blockchain into its stablecoin expansion strategy, consolidating multiple crypto infrastructures for payments and custody under one umbrella.
Solana Network Growth Captures Attention
This development coincides with a period of accelerated stablecoin usage on the Solana network. Data from the Solana Foundation indicates that the stablecoin supply on the network has increased by roughly 20% over the past year. Samsung’s Continued Crypto Ventures
Samsung’s exploration into blockchain technologies began in 2019 with the introduction of the Samsung Blockchain Keystore on the Galaxy S10, which provided a secure environment for storing private keys on mobile devices. The Samsung Blockchain Wallet has since supported digital asset management and decentralized application usage.
In 2021, the company expanded its capacity by adding support for hardware wallets like Ledger Nano S and Nano X. At that time, Samsung’s blockchain wallet already supported Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, and various tokens. The partnership between Samsung and Coinbase has intensified recently.
In July 2025, Samsung Pay was integrated with the Coinbase platform, allowing eligible users to purchase crypto assets and fund their transaction accounts via Samsung’s payment service. By October 2025, Samsung Wallet users were offered Coinbase One subscription campaigns and additional crypto benefits.
