Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Rakuten Wallet has announced plans to distribute physical Shiba Inu (SHIB) themed coins to holders at an investment seminar slated for November. The announcement was made via the company’s social media account, offering an engaging prospect for crypto enthusiasts.
Seminar Scheduled for November 3
Rakuten Wallet revealed that its senior analyst Matsuda will feature in the November event, organized as part of a broader investment seminar by Rakuten Securities. Scheduled on November 3, a day marked as a public holiday in Japan, the seminar aims to attract a larger audience. This strategic timing could bolster participation, enhancing the overall impact of the seminar.
As Rakuten Group’s cryptocurrency service, Rakuten Wallet offers spot trading and custodial services across Japan. The company plans to set up a booth at the seminar for the distribution of SHIB coins, marking a physical engagement with its user base.
Rakuten Wallet stated that participants who display their SHIB holdings on the application screen will receive the physical distribution items without exception.
Participation Requires Display of App Holdings
For interested participants, a simple display of SHIB assets on the Rakuten Wallet app to the attending staff is all that’s needed to receive the commemorative coin. This straightforward requirement eliminates any need for additional applications or a lottery process, simplifying access through direct verification.
The distributed items will be physical metal commemorative coins not directly linked to blockchain technology. Rakuten Wallet first introduced these tokens in July 2026, employing a sandblasting technique to achieve a unique textured finish.
Previous Distributions in Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Osaka
Rakuten Wallet had earlier distributed similar SHIB coins during an event in Fukuoka and plans to replicate this at upcoming seminars in Sapporo and Osaka in October. Such initiatives continue to underline Rakuten Wallet’s support for the meme coin community, following the addition of SHIB to its trading options in April.
The physical SHIB coin introduced in July 2026 serves as a metal commemorative item distributed at investment seminars, with no direct connection to blockchain technology.
Market Pressure Weighs on SHIB Price
The price of SHIB has been impacted by broader market selling pressures, plunging 3.78% in the past 24 hours to $0.00000494. This decline mirrors growing investor concerns over potential interest rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve, spurred by recent inflation data.
The Consumer Price Index in September rose to 3.7% year-over-year, up from 3.4% in August. Excluding food and energy, core inflation increased to 2.6% from 2.4%. CoinGlass data recorded $972.26 million in liquidated positions in futures markets over the past 24 hours. SHIB continued its descent, marking its fourth consecutive day of declines, reaching an intraday low of $0.000004811.
