Hong Kong-based brokerage firm Futu Securities has launched direct deposit and withdrawal services for the BNB token via the BNB Smart Chain network. This new initiative creates an official channel for digital asset access on a platform that reaches millions of users, enhancing its market significance.
Transition from Closed System to On-Chain Transfers
Previously, users of Futubull and moomoo could only engage in BNB transactions within Futu’s exclusive internal system. The updated regulation now allows eligible investors to directly transfer genuine BNB tokens between their external wallets and broker accounts at Futu.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, popularly known as CZ, highlighted this development via an announcement on his social media account. As one of the crypto market’s most recognized figures, Zhao continues to wield significant influence as the driving force behind Binance.
Futu users can now transfer BNB directly between their external wallets and broker accounts, provided they meet eligibility criteria.
The technical infrastructure supporting these transactions is provided by PantherTrade, a licensed platform under the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. However, on-chain access remains exclusive to professional investors with at least 8 million Hong Kong dollars in capital.
To comply with anti-money laundering regulations, external wallet addresses undergo a whitelist control check. The completion of withdrawal transactions can take up to three business days.
Hong Kong Accelerates Digital Finance Initiatives
Futu’s introduction coincides with an accelerated, large-scale digitalization movement in Hong Kong’s financial sector, commencing in October 2026. HSBC recently launched the RedCoin, a stablecoin pegged to the local currency, for its 3.3 million PayMe users. Meanwhile, the Anchorpoint Financial consortium led by Standard Chartered is progressing with the rollout of the HKDAP stablecoin.
The government has also continued to advance tokenization efforts. They recently concluded the issuance of a 20 billion Hong Kong dollar digital green bond, marking the region’s fourth such offering. According to Christopher Hui, the Financial Services and Treasury Secretary, the volume of digitized capital within the banking system has now reached 29 billion Hong Kong dollars.
Christopher Hui announced that the digital capital volume in the region’s banking balances has risen to 29 billion Hong Kong dollars.
Regulatory Pressure Reshapes Competitive Landscape
The Hong Kong administration plans to propose new regulations to the Legislative Council by year-end, with an aim to allow no grace period. Under this regulation, platforms without a VATP license must immediately halt their operations in the region.
Amidst this scenario, the direct access enabled by Futu may provide the BNB ecosystem with a formidable advantage in comparison with traditional Asian investment capital. Concurrently, Solana continues its expansion, evidenced by Pando listing its second spot Solana ETF product. However, Futu’s infrastructure offers more direct investor access to BNB.
