In a significant shift within the stablecoin sector, Ethena has overtaken Ripple to become the front-runner in daily market capitalization growth over the last 24 hours, according to data from Token Terminal. Ethena’s market value expanded by an impressive $337.4 million, surpassing Ripple, which now occupies the second position.
Ripple’s Grip on the Top Spot Weakens
The data reveals Ripple’s inability to maintain its leading position in stablecoin market cap growth. The previous day, Ripple experienced a market cap increase of $34.7 million, positioning it at the top. However, with only a $39.6 million augmentation over the last 24 hours, it has slipped to second place.
In contrast, Ethena’s substantial increase of $337.4 million during the same timeframe is nearly 8.5 times the growth recorded by Ripple, indicating Ethena’s decisive shift in market share.
Token Terminal data shows Ethena ascended to the top with a $337.4 million surge in stablecoin market value.
Broad-Based Expansion Among Other Issuers
The expansion in market capitalization was not confined to the two leaders. USDD reported an increase of $13.9 million, following closely behind Ripple, while Paxos achieved an additional $10.8 million. Further down the list, Ondo, OpenStandard, and UnitedStables reported growth figures of $4.2 million, $3.2 million, and $3 million, respectively.
Ethena is recognized as a digital asset-focused stablecoin protocol. The latest statistics underscore its ascension as the top contributor to daily market cap enhancement. While Ripple’s growth trajectory continued upward, its slip in rankings was primarily attributed to Ethena’s extraordinary pace.
Ripple expanded by $39.6 million over the past 24 hours but lost its lead due to Ethena’s robust performance.
Stablecoin Market Sees Widespread Upward Momentum
The figures illustrate a more extensive base of growth within the stablecoin market. Although the top ranks showed significant disparity, multiple issuers contributing positive increments denote a general trend of expansion across the industry.
While Ethena demonstrated the most pronounced movement, Ripple and other issuers remained in positive territory. The data underscores a concentration of market cap growth among major participants, with incremental growth also seen across lower ranks.
