He pinpointed various altcoins that are likely to experience growth in the wake of Ethereum’s enhancements.
Ethereum’s Layer-2 Ecosystem Prepares for Major Leap
Turner anticipates a significant surge in Layer-2 projects due to the Dencun update scheduled for Ethereum’s network in March. This update is designed to decrease transaction costs and improve data accessibility, which are expected to be a boon for Ethereum’s Layer-2 infrastructure.
Arbitrum (ARB), a Layer-2 solution, is among the top picks by Turner. With the token recently achieving a new high and the Dencun update poised to enhance transaction efficiency while reducing costs, he sees a clear pathway for Arbitrum’s continued ascent. This Layer-2 solution may attract a larger user base seeking a more cost-effective way to engage with the Ethereum network.
The analyst is also bullish on Optimism (OP), which strives to forge a ‘superchain’ ecosystem by fostering cooperation between different Layer-2 solutions. The notable partnership with Coinbase’s Layer-2 project, Base, signals potential rapid growth post-Dencun update. Furthermore, Immutable X (IMX) stands poised for expansion in the GameFi arena, as Turner predicts increased network efficiency will spur game development on the blockchain.
Polygon’s Native Token MATIC Awaits a Boost
Another candidate for substantial growth is Polygon’s MATIC, especially in light of the impending Polygon 2.0 network upgrade. Despite previous declines from its peak, MATIC is forecasted to witness a change in its trajectory, catalyzed by the developments in both the Dencun and Polygon 2.0 upgrades.
