Gunzilla Games Attracts $30 Million Investment for New Battle Royale Game “Off the Grid”

Gunzilla Games has recently gathered a significant $30 million investment for its imminent battle royale game “Off the Grid.” This funding round was co-managed by digital currency-centric firms CoinFund and Blizzard Fund, associated with the Avalanche blockchain. The game is slated for release on major platforms like PC, Sony PlayStation, and Microsoft Xbox and promises a unique third-person shooter experience with a player-driven in-game economy.

Strategic Financing and Blockchain Integration

This new influx of $30 million encompasses a strategic token sale which raised $10 million with contributions from Republic Capital and Morningstar Ventures. Additionally, the sum accounts for previous equity and validator sales. The game studio has already received $46 million since August 2022. Vlad Korolev, CEO of Gunzilla Games, has indicated that the release of “Off the Grid” along with its proprietary token GUNZ will bring a fresh perspective to AAA gaming and the blockchain world.

Community-Centric Gaming Experience

Aiming to surpass gamer expectations, the team at Gunzilla Games is focusing on creating a decentralized, community-driven in-game economy for “Off the Grid.” Evan Feng of CoinFund believes that blockchain technology will soon become a staple in game development, bridging the gap with traditional gaming. Furthermore, Gunzilla Games has announced GUNZ, a blockchain platform that empowers players to trade NFTs of in-game items, with a test network already launched last April.

Lydia Chiu from Ava Labs praised “Off the Grid” for its seamless integration of blockchain elements like wallets and NFTs into an immersive gaming experience. The game is poised to introduce console gamers to blockchain gaming without disrupting the natural flow of gameplay.
