The Arbitrum Foundation is joining forces with the renowned NFT brand Azuki and Weeb3 Foundation to launch a specialized Web3 network designed to captivate anime enthusiasts. This initiative aims to enrich the anime community with a comprehensive ecosystem, encompassing original and licensed anime content, interactive games, exclusive merchandise, and unique NFTs, through a platform named AnimeChain. Nina Rong, who leads ecosystem development at the Arbitrum Foundation, highlights the deployment of their advanced blockchain scaling technology as the catalyst for revolutionizing engagement for fans and creators alike.

Extended Reach into Anime and Gaming

The Arbitrum Foundation’s ambition extends into the gaming realm with a substantial investment of 200 million ARB, equating to roughly $344 million, over the forthcoming two years to bolster gaming ventures on their blockchain. This strategy aligns with their commitment to position their Ethereum Layer-2 network, Arbitrum, at the forefront of the industry. They are also backing a film venture by Academy Award-winning producer Shane Boris, evidencing their intent to bridge the gap between traditional media and blockchain innovation.

AnimeChain: A New Era for Anime Enthusiasts

AnimeChain is set to address the current piecemeal experience of anime fans in the Web3 space. With predictions placing the global anime market at a staggering $60 billion by 2030, it stands as one of the most rapidly expanding entities in entertainment. Azuki CEO Zagabond has expressed pride in being the inaugural partner for AnimeChain, aiming to deliver a novel, immersive way to produce and engage with anime intellectual property.

Azuki’s ascent as a leading NFT venture, spearheaded by Los Angeles-based Chiru Labs, reinforces the potential success of this collaboration. The Weeb3 Foundation has been revealed as the developer behind AnimeChain.
