Ethereum is currently experiencing a notable resurgence as it reclaims a significant support zone, propelling its recent upward momentum. Market attention is shifting towards a crucial technical threshold that might expedite further gains or, if not surpassed, lead to a loss in momentum.
Critical Technical Level in Sight
Ethereum traded at $2,443.79 at the time of reporting, exhibiting a 24-hour trading volume of $17.11 million and a market capitalization of $294.76 billion. The 1.34% increase over the last day reflects an ongoing recovery, bolstering its price structure.
Noted crypto expert JAVON MARK observes that Ethereum has regained a major support area post-breakout, witnessing an approximate 55% rise from that point. This indicates renewed strength among buyers and an attempt to establish a firmer upward trend.
JAVON MARK highlights that Ethereum’s sustained recovery post-significant support retake has focused the market on the subsequent crucial resistance test.
The primary resistance level emerges at $4,811.71, which, if strongly surpassed, could fuel bullish sentiment, setting sights on $8,500 as a new target. Conversely, failure to break beyond this threshold may result in stagnation or fresh selling pressures.
Intriguing Whale Activity Observed
Data from Lookonchain indicates that major investors have ramped up their Ethereum accumulation recently. On-chain data reveals substantial ETH withdrawals from Binance by prominent wallet holders, suggesting that these assets are moving off-exchange.
A wallet identified as 0x2d59 recently withdrew 30,000 ETH, valued at $67.42 million. Over the last three weeks, this same address has amassed 120,000 ETH, worth approximately $237.7 million.
Abraxas Capital’s withdrawal of 18,000 ETH, worth about $39.56 million, along with the newly established 0x2261 wallet’s pull of 6,704 ETH, valued at $14 million, bolster the accumulation narrative. These significant movements exceeded 54,700 ETH in total and crossed the $121 million mark in value.
The substantial ETH withdrawals from Binance highlight a trend among major players to hold their assets outside of exchanges.
Ethereum’s short-term trajectory hinges on the $4,811 resistance level. Surpassing this could amplify upward momentum and spotlight higher price objectives. Conversely, failure to break this barrier might lead to a period of lateral movement or an increase in selling pressure.
An uptick in ETH outflows from exchanges and continuous purchasing by large wallets suggest a potential tightening of supply in the market. However, a decisive break above the resistance is crucial for sustained technical strength.
