In a noteworthy surge, Shiba Inu experienced a significant increase in capital inflow despite some short-term setbacks. Over the past eight hours, the meme coin, which operates on the Ethereum network, saw its spot net flow rise by 440.65%, resulting in a positive net influx of approximately $506,680. Despite this, shorter-term data does not entirely support this uplift.
Midday Recovery in Inflows Observed
The trend extended to longer intraday periods. In four-hour intervals, Shiba Inu recorded a spot net inflow of $394,170, marking an impressive 337.15% increase. The 12-hour data preserved a positive flow of $352,220. Over the last 24 hours, the market welcomed an inflow of $6.72 million against an outflow of $6.11 million, delivering a net positive balance of approximately $613,500.
Positive spot net flows observed over longer intraday periods indicate strengthening capital inflows for SHIB. However, shorter-term movements do not provide the same level of support.
Short-Term Prospects Dampened
Contrastingly, recent hourly figures show a reversal, with SHIB observing an inflow of $211,140 against an outflow of $247,370, resulting in a net negative of $36,230. Furthermore, in the past 30 minutes, a negative flow of $26,830 was recorded, while the three-day outlook remains down approximately $388,160.
Futures activity offered little encouragement for buyers, as net flows were negative across all periods, including five minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour, four hours, and 12 hours. Notably, the 12-hour period exhibited the greatest weakness with a net outflow of $433,240, with only the eight-hour segment managing a marginally positive stance.
Price Dips Below Key Technical Threshold
The weakening inflow coincides with a decline in SHIB’s price. Following a sharp daily drop from the $0.00000580 region, the token is trading around $0.00000550, breaching the long-term moving average near $0.00000565. This movement effectively erases much of the technical recovery noted during September.
Currently, the key support range is between $0.00000540 and $0.00000545. If sustained, this could prompt a retest of $0.00000560 and potentially a move towards the $0.00000580 to $0.00000600 band. Conversely, a breach below $0.00000540 could shift focus to the $0.00000520 level and the psychologically significant $0.00000500 mark.
Despite the robust eight-hour surge in the spot market, the shift to negative short-term flows and prevalent outflows in futures indicate buyers have yet to establish a commanding presence in the market.
Overall, the data highlights a resurgent demand over longer intraday periods, but the rise in short-term outflows, the weak futures outlook, and the dip below the long-term average suggest the recovery in SHIB remains tenuous for now.
