The Stellar network, known for its low transaction costs, achieved a remarkable milestone on October 11. Amidst a surge in daily activity, the blockchain’s average transaction fee plummeted to a seven-day low, showcasing its ability to handle high demand without escalating costs. Data analytics firm Chainspect reported an average transaction fee of just $0.00012 on this day, indicating that the network’s capacity for affordable transactions remains robust even under heavy usage.
Simultaneous Low Fees and High Traffic Recorded
On October 11, Stellar completed approximately 12 million transactions, equating to an impressive 139.15 transactions per second. This marked the network’s busiest day of the week, reflecting substantial engagement and robustness. Chainspect emphasized that, despite typical weekend slowdowns, the network maintained a notable processing pace throughout the day.
Chainspect, which tracks performance metrics in blockchain networks, highlighted that Stellar’s transaction fees remained at $0.00012 while transaction volumes hit 12 million on October 11.
Sunday slowdowns, often a feature of blockchain activity, were not observed as Stellar maintained its operational tempo effectively. Chainspect’s ongoing analysis positions it as a reliable source for understanding blockchain performance metrics.
Protocol 28 Update Enhances Network Efficiency
The dynamic activity on the Stellar network coincides with its recent Protocol 28 update, also known as the Adapter update, which accelerates transaction settlement especially during peak periods. This update introduces CAP 83, a technical improvement allowing validators to commence voting even before complete access to transaction data sets. This prevents late or invalid transactions from hindering the system, thus enhancing overall processing speed.
Such adaptability ensures that even in scenarios of data transmission delays, Stellar’s consensus mechanism continues to operate efficiently. This advancement targets seamless, scalable transactions at minimal costs.
Surge in Tokenized Asset Values
The Stellar ecosystem has also seen a notable expansion in the sphere of tokenized real-world assets, which have surged 11-fold from $300 million in January 2025 to $3.54 billion. This growth is attributed to offerings like Franklin Templeton’s BENJI product and WisdomTree funds, which have significantly contributed to this sector.
The value of tokenized real-world assets on Stellar rose from $300 million to $3.54 billion since January 2025.
In 2026, Stellar further distinguished itself by leading in the tokenized fund space with a transaction volume exceeding $2.7 billion. Such metrics underscore the network’s broadening capabilities not only in handling transaction loads and costs but also in advancing the domain of asset tokenization.
