In a year marked by market volatility, the Shiba Inu ecosystem has witnessed a robust increase in its wallet numbers, reaching significant milestones. Data from Etherscanshib, a real-time tracker of Shiba Inu holdings on the Ethereum network, reveals that since the beginning of the year, 147,593 new SHIB wallets have been added, bringing the total to 1,696,223. This growth indicates sustained interest in Shiba Inu despite continued price pressures.
Consistent Wallet Increases Signal Strong Community Involvement
The daily update as of October 30, 2026, recorded 210 new holders, underscoring a continuous upward trajectory in wallet counts. The expanding holder base signals that the Shiba Inu community remains engaged, even as market dynamics fluctuate. According to Etherscanshib, “The SHIB holder base has expanded by 147,593 addresses year-to-date, reaching a total of 1,696,223.”
The consistent growth in wallets may be attributed to sustained community interest, amassing by small investors, and renewed attention toward the Shiba Inu ecosystem. This growth has taken place against the backdrop of a generally bearish crypto market, highlighting the community’s resilience and interest.
Interest Persists Despite Price Decline
With the number of SHIB holders approaching the 1.7 million mark, market participants are watching whether this growth rate will hold for the rest of the year. However, the price outlook remains muted as SHIB fell by 1.89% over the past 24 hours to $0.0000047, closing the month of October in the red.
October, traditionally dubbed ‘Uptober’ due to strong market performances, saw several crypto assets depreciate as the month drew to a close. Shiba Inu was no exception, experiencing an 18.12% decline throughout October, marking its first monthly loss since July.
Binance Incident Affects Shiba Inu Supply
The pressure on the market was further exacerbated by a significant incident involving Binance earlier in the week. Unauthorized fund outflows targeting the exchange’s hot wallets reportedly affected token holdings worth $6.3 billion, sparking widespread declines in cryptocurrency prices on Friday.
A community member, Mazrael, reported that approximately 500 billion SHIB were affected by the incident, representing 0.05% of the total supply.
Despite these challenges, the Shiba Inu ecosystem continues to expand its utility. The travel platform Travala now supports SHIB for car rental payments, allowing SHIB holders to make rental payments at over 50,000 locations. This development highlights ongoing efforts to broaden SHIB’s practical applications beyond traditional trading scenarios.
