The supply of XRP held on exchanges has witnessed a significant decrease in recent days. On-chain data reveals a pronounced drop in the XRP reserves on Binance, with a similar declining trend observed across other prominent platforms like Bybit and Bithumb.
Binance Experiences Notable XRP Decline
According to CryptoQuant data, the amount of XRP held on Binance fell from 2.69 billion on October 28 to 2.47 billion by October 30, marking a reduction of over 220 million XRP in just two days. This reflects an approximate 8.18% decrease.
This level marks the lowest XRP reserve on Binance since December 2022. While a dwindling supply on exchanges signifies a reduced availability for selling, it does not, in itself, signal any definitive market direction.
CryptoQuant’s data highlights that Binance’s XRP reserve has reached its lowest point since December 2022, with withdrawals exceeding 220 million XRP over two days.
Downtrend Extends Across Platforms
During the same timeframe, Bybit also experienced a decrease in its XRP balance, dropping from 306 million to 286 million. Meanwhile, Bithumb’s reserves fell from 1.847 billion to 1.837 billion XRP, a reduction of approximately 0.54%.
Simultaneous declines across several major exchanges indicate a contraction in the total XRP supply available on trading platforms. Despite this, there has not been a corresponding strong reaction in prices, with XRP maintaining its fluctuating movement.
Such developments lead market participants to closely monitor how much is held on each exchange and the relationship between price movements and reserve changes. Platforms like CryptoAppsy facilitate tracking XRP volatility and news specific to the coin, reflecting changes in exchange reserves all on one screen.
Caution in Demand Interpretation
Although asset withdrawal from exchanges is often linked with accumulation tendencies, this data alone does not definitively indicate a build-up. The reduction merely shows a decline in the amount of XRP poised for immediate trade.
Should demand remain constant, lower exchange balances could potentially limit short-term selling pressure. However, the current scenario indicates no immediate or consistent alignment between on-chain data and price behavior.
Data from Bybit and Bithumb also signals a downturn, yet lower exchange balances do not necessarily imply that market participants are accumulating XRP.
Therefore, the recent contraction in XRP supply isn’t read as a clear price reversal detached from overall market selling pressures. Nonetheless, the swift decline in reserves on major exchanges has become a closely watched element concerning the asset’s supply dynamics.
