Ripple has initiated November by releasing a substantial 1 billion XRP into the market through its planned escrow account openings. According to the blockchain monitoring platform Whale Alert, this transaction was executed in two separate transfers of 500 million XRP each at the start of November 1, each valued at approximately $626.43 million.
Regular Escrow Releases Maintain Market Stability
These monthly escrow releases by Ripple are part of a longstanding strategy to make the supply of XRP entering the market more predictable. Previously, Ripple secured a total of 55 billion XRP in escrow accounts, employing a systematic release schedule. However, not all 1 billion XRP remain in circulation. Historically, Ripple has often returned the majority of the released XRP back into escrow, with roughly 700 million being locked again, while the remaining balance is utilized for operational necessities, liquidity management, and ecosystem activities.
Whale Alert data highlighted that Ripple-linked transactions successfully extracted 1 billion XRP from escrow on November 1.
October Marks a Busy Month for Ripple Ecosystem
October was a significant month for Ripple and its XRP ecosystem, characterized by several updates and announcements related to the XRP Ledger. During this period, key events like Swell and XRP Seoul were convened. Known for its innovations in cross-border payment solutions and enterprise blockchain products, Ripple continues to be a pivotal player within the XRP ecosystem.
Moreover, Ripple’s USD-pegged stablecoin project, RLUSD, was listed on the Coinbase platform within the same month. This development allowed both retail and institutional users to transact in RLUSD through Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange, and the Coinbase Retail app, enabling seamless conversions between RLUSD and other USD-based stablecoins.
With RLUSD’s listing on Coinbase, individual and institutional clients can now trade the asset across various Coinbase products.
XRPL Upgrade Scheduled for November 4
The XRP Ledger network anticipates crucial amendments and improvements in the days ahead. As per XRPScan data, the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment is progressing within a two-week activation window that started on October 21, 2026, with the earliest effective time being set for November 4, 2026, at 14:46 UTC.
For this amendment to be adopted, it must maintain validator support above 80%. Should this threshold drop, even momentarily, to 80% or below, the proposal faces rejection, resetting the 14-day countdown.
The fixCleanup3_4_0 package addresses several domains, including Single Asset Vaults, Lending Protocols, automated market makers, permissioned DEX structures, trust line systems, NFTs, MPTs, escrow transactions, sponsorships, transaction signing, and delegation of authority.
This amendment is pivotal in the context of the Permission Delegation feature activated in October. Without this, users will lack the ability to perform detailed permission delegations for PaymentBurn activities.
