Elon Musk and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood have been engaging in a Space broadcast for approximately 1.5 hours, discussing a wide range of topics. Investors, particularly those interested in cryptocurrencies, were keenly awaiting Musk’s comments on Bitcoin and other digital currencies.
The conversation, which began with Musk sharing some information about his ventures, soon pivoted to the topic of cryptocurrencies. During the broadcast, which focused heavily on future technologies including artificial intelligence, Musk was asked by Wood about his views on the future and benefits of cryptocurrencies.
Musk responded by stating that he doesn’t think about cryptocurrencies often nor does he talk about them much. This stance aligns with his previous declaration of shifting his focus from cryptocurrencies to artificial intelligence.
The Elon Musk who once sent playful messages and sometimes frustrated investors in 2021 seems to have changed. His current disinterest in cryptocurrencies led to disappointment for those who had been anticipating a price surge in DOGE and BTC as a result of the Space broadcast.
Musk made it clear that his payment services, referred to as “X,” will not integrate cryptocurrencies. However, he did share some optimistic insights during the broadcast, particularly about the increasing traffic on “X” and its progress compared to traditional media, which is on the decline.
Musk also mentioned that most states are expected to approve payment service licenses by early next year, with the goal of launching “X” payment services by mid-2024, marking significant progress for the platform.
