As Bitcoin trades tightly between $82,900 and $83,000, investors are keenly eyeing the pivotal $82,800 level, crucial from a technical viewpoint. Following a robust autumn rally, the current pullback signifies a critical retest phase. This phenomenon occurs when prices revisit previous break points to assess the strength of buying interest.
Global Liquidity Challenges Emerge
Aksel Kibar of TechCharts highlights a pattern of post-break retests leading to sharper reversals since May 2026 across global equity markets. TechCharts, a renowned platform for technical analysis, emphasizes key market evaluations. Kibar warns of the impact of dwindling global liquidity on asset performance.
“The absence of global liquidity and momentum hinders uninterrupted rallies for major assets. This scenario could apply to crypto assets as well.”
Kibar points out that weak liquidity and momentum loss often lead to deeper corrections, transforming prolonged bullish trends into intense technical resets.
Key Levels on Bitcoin’s Chart
The recent months have seen Bitcoin’s price movements follow a distinct pattern on the BTC/USD daily chart. Starting July, Bitcoin had bottomed out at $57,800, rebounding by surpassing $71,500 and $76,100 in September, before retreating back to the key $82,800 area in October. The market remains focused on this critical zone.
The analysis suggests that maintaining strength above $82,800 could pave the way for a move toward $90,000. Conversely, losing this support might revert prices to the summer’s sideways trading range.
Cautious Sentiment Ahead of Fed Meeting
Market participants appear cautious beyond the charts. With the Federal Reserve meetings scheduled for October 27 and 28, investors are wary of potential continuation of tight monetary policy, prompting risk-averse strategies and a shift towards safer assets like government bonds.
Decentralized forecasting platforms reflect this sentiment, with participants estimating a 63% probability of Bitcoin temporarily dipping below the psychologically significant $80,000 threshold.
Long-term Holders Remain Steadfast
Despite the tepid atmosphere, panic hasn’t gripped the market. Although Bitcoin trades at about one-third below its $126,080 peak from October 2025, there is little evidence of swift position liquidations by major long-term holders.
Aksel Kibar encapsulates market sentiment succinctly: “Still holding.”
The response around the $82,800 mark in the coming days could be decisive in setting Bitcoin’s trajectory as the year concludes.
