In a period marked by waning interest in crypto markets, Binance has continued to broaden its derivatives offerings. Market data shared by analyst Maartunn highlights that the exchange has added 227 new futures trading pairs in 2026 alone. This number closely approaches the 235 new pairs added by Binance throughout 2025, signaling a sustained expansion strategy in derivatives.
Traditional Assets Gain Prominence in Listings
With two months remaining in the year, Binance is poised to match or even surpass last year’s total if the current pace continues. However, the notable shift lies in the composition of these new listings. According to Maartunn, approximately 70% of the new futures trading pairs introduced in 2026 are tethered to traditional financial instruments like stocks, ETFs, commodities, and foreign exchange markets, rather than crypto assets.
Binance recently announced the addition of four new perpetual futures contracts focused on traditional finance to the Binance Futures platform. These include EIDO for the iShares MSCI Indonesia ETF, EQT for EQT Corporation, STM for STMicroelectronics NV, and ABBV for AbbVie. Through this move, Binance aims to broaden trading options and enhance the overall user experience.
Maartunn reported that about 70% of the new futures pairs launched in 2026 are connected to stocks, ETFs, commodities, and currency products rather than crypto assets.
Removal of 12 Spot Trading Pairs Scheduled
In contrast, Binance has announced that it regularly reviews listed products, with criteria such as low liquidity and weak trading volume leading to the removal of certain pairs. Following a recent review, the exchange will delist 12 spot trading pairs from its platform effective October 30, 2026, at 03:00 UTC.
The pairs to be removed include AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC, and XTZ/BTC.
Binance stated it evaluates spot trading pairs at regular intervals to protect users and maintain market quality, indicating that pairs lacking in liquidity and volume may be removed as part of this process.
Timeline for Margin Trading Pair Removals Announced
On the margin side, Binance disclosed a new delisting schedule. The exchange will remove several cross-margin trading pairs from the list effective October 30, 2026, at 06:00 UTC. The affected pairs are RE/USD1, 币安人生/U, KAT/U, BTC/USDS, ETH/USDS, AVNT/U, FET/U, TRUMP/U, APT/U, and WLFI/U.
Binance noted that it will close user positions, complete automatic settlements, and cancel all pending orders for these products on October 26, 2026, at 06:00 UTC. Post this process, the specified cross-margin pairs will be fully removed from Binance Margin.
Founded in 2017, Binance is recognized as one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume. The recent steps by the exchange underscore its strategy of enhancing diversity in derivative offerings while pursuing a more selective listing policy on the spot and margin fronts.
