Binance Labs Prepares for Major Token Unlock Event in Aptos Blockchain

Binance‘s venture capital arm Binance Labs, as a significant investor in the Blockchain platform Aptos, is preparing for an upcoming token unlock event. The planned token unlock for Aptos will take place next week, distributing approximately 9% of the total APT supply across four main groups.

On December 12th, at 03:00 AM GMT, 24.84 million APT tokens, worth $199.48 million at current prices, will be distributed to four main groups during the token unlock event.

As part of the planned token unlock, the Aptos Foundation will receive 1.33 million APT tokens worth $10.71 million, core contributors will get 11.88 million APT tokens valued at $95.36 million, investors will receive 8.42 million APT tokens worth $67.64 million, and the community will get 3.21 million APT tokens valued at $25.78 million.

Aptos regularly conducts token unlock events, and in a previous event, it distributed 24.84 million APT tokens, worth $199.48 million at current prices, to the same four main groups.

A token unlock event typically refers to the release of tokens that are locked for a certain period and offered to investors at the beginning of an altcoin project. Such an event usually occurs during ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) or during token sales and can vary depending on the project structure and token distribution plan.
