In a notable development for the cryptocurrency market, spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States witnessed a net inflow of $31 million on September 28. On the same day, Bitcoin’s price neared $84,000, underscoring a resilient streak of institutional interest across six consecutive positive trading days.

BlackRock Dominates Fund Inflows

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust was the standout performer, recording the highest net inflow of $54.8 million. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust also saw a boost, bringing in an additional $10.3 million. Conversely, Fidelity’s FBTC fund and Grayscale’s GBTC fund faced outflows of $10.9 million and $23.2 million, respectively. Other major spot Bitcoin ETFs reported no significant movements.

Despite a daily net inflow of $31 million in U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, the market has consistently experienced positive flows for six straight trading days.

As one of the world’s foremost asset management firms, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, identified by the ticker IBIT, is recognized as one of the largest spot Bitcoin ETF products available in the U.S.

Six-Day Inflow Reaches $2.4 Billion

The current streak of positive inflows began on September 21 with a substantial $999 million. This was followed by $714.7 million on September 22, $346.9 million on September 23, $190.7 million on September 24, and $134.5 million on September 25. With the latest $31 million addition on September 28, the cumulative inflow over the six days has surpassed the $2.4 billion mark.

These figures indicate a noticeable slowdown in the pace of purchases. Initial days saw inflows in the hundreds of millions of dollars, whereas the most recent session was relatively modest. Despite this deceleration, the trend of positive fund flows suggests enduring institutional interest amid volatile price movements.

Bitcoin Flirts with $84,000 Price Level

Bitcoin’s price exhibited significant volatility over the past 24 hours. Initially dropping below $83,000, it rallied above $83,500 and momentarily surpassed $84,000, only to retrace to around $82,800. Such price action reflects a struggle to maintain a sustained move beyond the $84,000 threshold.

Although Bitcoin demonstrated a tendency for rapid recovery after downturns, it struggled to sustain movements above the $84,000 mark.

Renewed buying interest propelled Bitcoin back to approximately $84,100, before settling around $83,700. These repeated efforts to break past $84,000 have positioned this level as a key market focus in the short term.

The persistence of fund inflows into Bitcoin ETFs and the price’s fluctuation around $84,000 paint a picture of cautious yet dynamic market conditions. Even though short-term purchase appetite has waned, the positive capital flow through spot ETFs continues unabated.
