Cardano Foundation Partners with Petrobras to Propel Blockchain Education and Innovation

The Cardano Foundation has announced a collaboration with Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil company, to provide blockchain education and explore exemplary technology use cases in the energy sector. On December 20th, the foundation revealed its plan to organize educational workshops on blockchain for Petrobras’ 45,000 employees, with content delivered through Cardano Academy and Petrobras University.

Petrobras, established in 1953 and achieving a revenue of $124.7 billion in 2022, is the largest company in Brazil and South America. The educational program will include various blockchain applications, use case examples, and interactive quizzes to enhance learning.

To celebrate the program’s launch, the Cardano Foundation hosted two workshops in the Metaverse, examining blockchain regulations in Brazil and globally. Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, expressed excitement about the partnership with Petrobras, highlighting the growing interest in blockchain education among businesses and the expanding reach of the Cardano Foundation’s mission.

Participants who complete the blockchain education and pass the examination will receive a certificate. Additionally, the first 500 participants will be gifted NFTs created in collaboration with the Petrobras Education Board. These NFTs will dynamically reflect each participant’s progress and milestones throughout the education, serving as a digital tracker and showcase of individual achievements.

The Cardano Foundation is known for supporting and promoting the Cardano ecosystem. The partnership aligns with one of Cardano’s fundamental goals announced in 2021, which included strengthening relationships with Fortune 500 companies, increasing diversity in ecosystem activities, and spreading blockchain use cases across a broader range of sectors.
