Clearpool, a renowned corporate lending marketplace, has officially greenlit a transition of its primary blockchain hub and a swap of its CPOOL token to a new asset. Garnering an overwhelming 97.16% approval in community voting, the initiative charts Clearpool’s expansion onto the XRP Ledger, with plans to transform its native token into CLEAR on a one-to-one basis.
Strengthening Ties with Ripple in Real-World Credit Spaces
This strategic move sets a definitive framework for Clearpool’s partnership with Ripple in the realm of real-world asset-backed private credit. Diverging from speculative lending backed by volatile crypto assets, Clearpool aims to facilitate working capital financing within the fintech sector, leveraging XRP Ledger as a foundational infrastructure. Recognized for its emphasis on institutional borrowing and on-chain credit products, Clearpool’s collaboration marks a significant shift in focus.
Under the agreement’s structure, the responsibilities are clearly delineated. Clearpool is set to provide technological infrastructure and smart contract services, while Cicada Partners will oversee borrower auditing and risk underwriting. Ripple will participate as a limited partner in credit pools.
Financing will be conducted exclusively via the stablecoin RLUSD, which will serve as an inaugural use case among institutional investors.
Custody service provider Hex Trust will ensure security and compliance support for the structure. The mandated use of RLUSD highlights a pivotal development in the positioning of Ripple’s payment and credit tools in the enterprise space.
Token Swap and Capital Restructuring Set for Late 2026
The token exchange between CPOOL and CLEAR is slated for the fourth quarter of 2026. This process aligns with a capital restructuring strategy, with the introduction of 1.125 billion new CLEAR tokens compared to the previous issuance of 1 billion CPOOL. To mitigate dilution, 70% of the new supply will be distributed to existing token holders at launch.
A stringent reduction mechanism will govern the remaining supply. Half of all fees collected by the platform will be allocated for market repurchase of CLEAR, with the acquired tokens being permanently burned.
The development team announced its intention to allocate half of the fees for market repurchase and permanent token burning, establishing a deflationary model for CLEAR.
Technical Preparations on XRPL Advance
Preparations for the expansion are meticulously tailored to accommodate future growth. The project will adhere to XRP Ledger’s native standards, XLS-65 for regulated single-asset pools and XLS-66 for unsecured lending structures.
As of early October, these modifications are undergoing testing on Devnet, contingent upon an 80% approval rate from validators for full deployment.
Market Anticipates Clearpool’s Strategic Shift
On the market front, movements commenced even before the voting concluded. According to TradingView data, CPOOL broke out of its year-long accumulation range of approximately $0.013 to $0.020, reaching as high as $0.036554. The price surpassed the medium-term moving average of $0.028192.
As the asset swap slated for the last quarter of 2026 approaches, investors are closely watching the $0.101003 level, which is deemed a long-term critical threshold.
