Cristiano Ronaldo’s NFT Ventures Amid Legal Challenges

Cristiano Ronaldo, in partnership with Binance, surprised NFT owners with a football play session video, despite ongoing legal efforts to bring him to court in the United States. The video featured Ronaldo training with NFT owners, alongside influencer Khaby Lame and Croatian footballer Maria Marković, providing gameplay tips.

Ronaldo’s long-term NFT collaboration with Binance began in 2022, offering fans exclusive NFT collections and interaction opportunities with the sports icon. His first NFT collection with Binance was well-received by fans, emphasizing his desire to connect with supporters through unique experiences and access facilitated by NFTs.

In 2023, Ronaldo continued to promote his NFT collection with Binance, even undergoing a lie detector test to confirm his NFT ownership, which the machine verified as true. This was part of the promotion for his second NFT collection with the exchange.

While some crypto investors enjoy Ronaldo’s engagement with Web3, others have filed a class-action lawsuit against him, alleging his involvement with Binance’s NFT space encourages investment in unregistered securities. The lawsuit was filed in a U.S. district court in Florida on November 27.

Despite the lawsuit, Binance users have struggled to locate Ronaldo, whose Saudi Arabian address remains undisclosed. Plaintiffs have requested alternative notification methods, including email, social media, and website publication, in line with international agreements.
