Dogecoin has exhibited its first golden cross on its daily chart in over a year, with the 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day moving average. This formation, often seen as a bullish sign, last appeared in August 2025. Although similar patterns were observed in short-term hourly charts earlier, the daily scale’s previous golden cross dates back to August 2025.
Volatility Followed Previous Golden Cross
Back in August 2025, following the golden cross signal, Dogecoin’s price surged to $0.30 by September 13, 2025. However, this uptrend was not sustainable, as selling pressure dominated in the subsequent months. By the sudden crash on October 10, the price plummeted from $0.255 to $0.09, coinciding with a $20 billion liquidation in the cryptocurrency market.
In November of the same year, the daily chart registered a death cross signal, sending Dogecoin into a prolonged decline. The latest golden cross signal suggests that Dogecoin is beginning to recover from this prolonged downturn.
“The emergence of a golden cross on Dogecoin’s daily chart, where the 50-day average surpasses the 200-day moving average, marks the first such occurrence since August 2025.”
Recovery Takes Root From August Lows
The recovery commenced after Dogecoin touched a $0.06 low in mid-August 2026. During this rally, Dogecoin exceeded the 50-day moving average, a barrier that had constrained the price since early 2026, only briefly surpassed in January and May of the same year.
Continuing its upward trend, Dogecoin’s price crossed above the 200-day moving average for the first time since October 2025, just before the golden cross formation, reinforcing the shift in technical dynamics.
Expansion in Ecosystem Applications
The technical reinforcement coincides with developments in the Dogecoin ecosystem. Recently, DogeOS launched an open test network for trading, lending, and various applications akin to Ethereum, aiming to offer DOGE holders new utilities beyond simple transactions and price movements.
Additionally, Metallicus has introduced DogecoinVM, envisioned as a bridge connecting Dogecoin to the Metal network. DogecoinVM promises a DOGE-compliant ledger structure on Metal Blockchain.
“Metallicus aims to enhance transaction speed and immediacy by integrating Dogecoin into the Metal network through DogecoinVM.”
Monitoring Key Price Levels
In the last 24 hours, Dogecoin increased by 3.88%, reaching $0.0962. In the short term, crucial levels of $0.095 and $0.098 are being closely monitored. The next significant resistance is at $0.106, a level where gains stalled on September 22.
Should Dogecoin surpass $0.106, attention may turn to $0.12 and $0.16. Nevertheless, as past occurrences have shown, technical signals alone do not guarantee sustained upward movement.
