Empery Digital, a trailblazer in digital asset investments, is redirecting its focus by liquidating 1,400 Bitcoin to raise approximately $87.1 million. This strategic shift from accumulating Bitcoin aims to bolster the company’s investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Why the Move to AI?
Empery Digital is investing the proceeds into a joint venture with Hunt Properties to establish a U.S.-based AI data center. This enterprise marks a new chapter for the company, which has apportioned $65 million towards acquiring a 25% equity stake in this energy-rich industrial site redevelopment.
Another portion of the funds is allocated for settling debts and covering legal costs. Empery Digital maintains 1,514 Bitcoin, with an estimated value of $100 million, in addition to about $74 million in liquid assets.
Market Response and Share Performance
Investors received Empery’s strategic pivot warmly, leading to a 4.2% jump in its share price, opening at $3.95 and closing at a 1.58% increase. This positive response underscores the market’s alignment with Empery’s abandonment of extensive Bitcoin hoarding.
Despite the day’s uptick, Empery’s shares have seen an 18% decline since January and around 82% since it embarked on its Bitcoin-centric strategy in July 2025.
Originally, Empery emerged from its transition from Volcon, utilizing over $500 million to cement its presence in the cryptocurrency domain.
What Does This Shift Mean?
– Empery Digital is significantly altering its investment strategy by focusing on AI rather than cryptocurrency.
– This pivot aligns with broader trends as institutional investors favor AI over extensive crypto holdings.
– Share prices responded positively to this strategic move, reflecting investor confidence in AI’s potential.
Empery’s strategic shift comes alongside industry-wide investments in AI, signaling a shared confidence in its potential over cryptocurrency. Regulatory disclosures reveal Empery’s substantial remaining Bitcoin reserves, further augmented by their AI infrastructure ambitions.
