Google Announces Policy Updates Targeting Cryptocurrency Trusts

Google has announced updates to its advertising policies targeting cryptocurrency trusts. These updates will come into effect on January 29th, 2024, and will include Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

With these changes, the aim is to provide users with more reliable information and protect them against the risks they may encounter in their investments. Advertisers offering cryptocurrency trusts, especially in the USA, are at the center of this update.

Advertisers are now expected to meet certain criteria and receive a certificate from Google. During the certification process created by the update, it is hoped that advertisers will meet certain standards to increase the overall quality and reliability of cryptocurrency ads on platforms.

In the certification process, there will be an icon indicating that individual advertisers and institutions have met Google’s expectations and have received approval to publish ads for cryptocurrency trusts. Although the changes are centered in the USA, Google reminds advertisers that these restrictions are not limited to the USA only and that their ads will need to comply with the local laws of any country or region they target.

Google’s cryptocurrency ad policy also covers NFTs. According to the new policy, advertisements for NFT games associated with non-gambling content are allowed. However, as with this new regulation, institutions and organizations need to obtain a certificate to publish advertisements on this topic.
