Following the strong rally and healthy correction of significant altcoins, investors have turned their attention to smaller-scale alternatives, resulting in sharp price increases for many altcoins. One such altcoin, Helium Mobile’s MOBILE, has seen its price surge by 100% in the last 24 hours, reaching $0.0070. Additionally, its trading volume has increased by 200%, reaching $18 million.
Helium Mobile has started offering unlimited mobile services nationwide for $20 a month and has reached approximately 8,000 subscribers as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). As part of its market entry strategy, Helium Mobile offers new subscribers the option to earn ‘mapping rewards’ in exchange for sharing their phone’s session data. This option has increased interest in the MOBILE altcoin.
Users who accept this offer will have an NFT minted in their Helium (Solana) wallets, and the owners of this NFT will receive a share corresponding to 20% of the MOBILE mapping rewards. To put it in cryptocurrency terms, Helium Mobile users can receive MOBILE rewards in the form of cryptocurrency by embedding a location-tracking supported NFT into their phones. These mobile phones are equipped with access to a Helium cryptocurrency wallet operating on the Solana Blockchain.
Helium Mobile customers who opt for the NFT can allow the company to determine their locations. This data is very valuable for Helium Mobile as it helps incentivize users to establish active points in specific areas and ultimately helps reduce the payments made to T-Mobile for mobile network usage.
Salvador Gala, founding partner of Escape Velocity Ventures, has shared his thoughts on the issuance of Helium Mobile NFTs. According to Gala, there are approximately 8,000 people who have purchased Helium Mobile’s NFT on a crypto tracking site, and this number is believed to accurately represent the customer count. Furthermore, another figure, approximately 34,000, represents the number of people who have downloaded the app, selected the mapping option, but may not yet have subscribed to a mobile phone plan. Gala also emphasized that a significant portion of Helium Mobile customers registered during the $20 monthly services offered in Miami before the launch of the $5 monthly services nationwide.
