Arbitrum has teamed up with LG Electronics in an ambitious effort to develop a blockchain-powered advertising network tailored for advertisers and publishers. As outlined by Fortune, this pioneering project will focus on creating a shared database for storing ad inventory and monitoring user interaction with ads meticulously. Both companies are working towards deploying the service within the year.
How Will Blockchain Impact Advertising Efficiency?
The blockchain model seeks to upend traditional advertising networks by eliminating intermediaries, thus automating and streamlining the buying and selling of ad spaces. This could lead to a more efficient transaction process and offer advertisers better insight into campaign performance. Samuel Byungsun Park of LG Electronics’ blockchain research team highlighted their goal of identifying concrete value for advertisers, publishers, and users through this initiative.

What Role Does Arbitrum Play in This Partnership?
Arbitrum aims to leverage its technology to automate significant aspects of the advertising marketplace, reducing the necessity for manual processes. Steven Goldfeder, Arbitrum’s co-founder, pointed out that this automation could largely be accomplished through software.

The announcement of this collaboration saw a 5.44% rise in the value of Arbitrum’s ARB token. Arbitrum also officially announced their involvement in the blockchain advertising project on X, formerly Twitter.
With a robust infrastructure, Arbitrum leads layer 2 solutions for Ethereum, enabling quicker and cheaper transaction processing. Through these capabilities, it supports decentralized finance and various blockchain applications.
What Is LG’s Experience in Blockchain?
For nearly ten years, LG Group has been delving into blockchain and cryptocurrency initiatives. Based in South Korea, this enterprise has spearheaded various blockchain-related projects, most notably through its LG CNS subsidiary, which launched the Monachain platform in 2018.
During the NFT craze of 2022, LG Electronics introduced “Wallypto”, a decentralized crypto wallet on the Hedera Hashgraph network. This wallet worked alongside LG Art Lab, a platform for displaying digital art directly on TV screens.
