Investor Alert: Beware of False Altcoin Listing Claims on Crypto Exchanges

Recently, the CEO of Binance cautioned investors about misleading claims regarding unlisted altcoins on popular crypto exchanges. Rumors often circulate on social media about certain altcoins being listed on exchanges like X, Y, Z, despite exchanges not permitting the sharing of insider information.

There are a few ways to predict which altcoins might be listed on popular crypto exchanges. For instance, when networks like Arbitrum release tokens due to high demand, exchanges may arrange simultaneous listings. A significant portion of altcoins on Coinbase‘s review list end up being listed, but beyond that, predicting listings is nearly impossible, and trusting those who claim certainty can lead to scams.

Binance and Coinbase officials have already made statements on this issue. Now, the CEO of OKX has issued a warning to investors about altcoin listings, emphasizing the importance of being cautious.

The OKX CEO stated, “Many friends urge me to list more brc-20 tokens. While I appreciate these kind suggestions, I want to clarify that if we, as an exchange, adopt the simplest strategy of listing all tokens, it might seem to help the exchange make money faster, but it would destroy the market. OKX never wants to be the most aggressive exchange in listings. Although not the biggest leader in the sector, OKX adheres to long-term philosophies like building infrastructure, avoiding harm, being as transparent as possible, and always focusing on technology.”

He further clarified that sending spam listing requests via Twitter would not be effective. Over the years, OKX CEX has established five main principles for listing: the blockchain technology and product focus of the token, its popularity within the community, whether the project founders and investor team are long-term entrepreneurs, legal and compliance reviews, and selecting projects from the market based on research rather than accepting offers.
