Ripple, a leading entity in the blockchain ecosystem, is capturing attention with upcoming technical updates and tokenization-focused announcements slated for the coming weeks. Ripple President Monica Long addressed the rapidly evolving space during the Korea Blockchain Week held from September 29 to October 1, 2026, in Seoul. The event, renowned as one of Asia’s largest blockchain gatherings, brought together industry stakeholders to discuss the future of digital finance.
Public Networks Take Center Stage in Tokenization
During a session shared with Acting CFTC Chair Caroline D. Pham, Long provided insights into the next phase of tokenization. She emphasized that while the majority of tokenized asset volumes would appear on public blockchains, certain advantages of private networks would be integrated into the XRP Ledger. Specifically, she highlighted ongoing work on confidential transfer features outlined in XLS 96 and the authority delegation mechanism under XLS 75.
Monica Long stated, “The bulk of tokenized transaction volume will occur on public blockchains,” while underscoring the integration of some private network benefits into the XRP Ledger.
The XRP Ledger, a public blockchain platform closely tied to Ripple, focuses on payments, tokenization, and institutional applications. Its revealed roadmap indicates a broader positioning beyond mere transfers, aiming to support extensive financial applications.
XRPL Updates Timetable Set
Recent developments around Ripple highlight key upcoming technical changes. The Permission Delegation feature is expected to be introduced on October 8, 2026, with the Batch update and its associated fix following on October 9. These updates require maintaining over 80% support during a two-week activation window to be enacted.
Defined enhancements in these features aim to bolster corporate-level account management and atomic transaction execution capabilities, which do not rely on trust. Ripple sees these tools as a pathway to expand the range of use cases on the XRPL.
Spotlight on Seoul Event and Brazilian Partnership
Monica Long is also set to speak at the XRP Seoul event at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on October 3, 2026. The event will feature Ripple executives including Markus Infanger, J A Akinyele, Christina Chan, and Tatsuya Kohrogi.
Separately, in Brazil, financial market infrastructure provider CSD BR announced the first phase of its strategic partnership with Ripple. With registered assets exceeding 22 trillion Brazilian reais, CSD BR declared this initiative a new phase for asset tokenization in the country.
Ripple Global Partner Success Lead Luke Judges noted, “The integration marks a significant gain for the XRP Ledger and is expected to carry a market value of approximately $15 billion on XRPL’s first issuance.”
These developments underscore Ripple’s commitment to enhancing technical capacity on XRPL while endeavoring to integrate tokenization into real-world financial infrastructures. Messages from the Seoul event and the Brazilian partnership illustrate two pivotal elements of Ripple’s strategy to broaden corporate application fields.
