In the early spring of last year, Inferno Drainer, a service that helped hackers steal money from other people’s wallets and took a 20% commission in return, announced that it had suddenly ceased its operations. This service was first discussed in the Scam Sniffer Telegram group.

Scam Sniffer stated that this system targeted approximately 5,000 individuals and caused losses of around $6 million. Inferno’s method involved a person contacting the target projects through Telegram, cloning their websites, and then emptying the victims’ wallets using Inferno’s phishing software.

However, this incident was considered only the beginning. Researchers currently investigating the blockchain claim that Inferno has stolen over $71 million in stolen funds.

If the data shared by individuals disclosing transaction details is accurate, the team behind Inferno made a profit of around $16 million within the span of six months.

The hackers announced that they have permanently closed their services on Telegram and will no longer continue this operation. The language used in the announcement did not deviate from the sarcastic and mocking tone often seen in communication with such individuals.

The article also humorously noted that those who will contact users after the service has closed will be scammers themselves.
