The Shiba Inu (SHIB) community, led by the memecoin’s official Discord account manager known as DaVinci, is looking forward to a transformative 2024. Celebrating the SHIB army’s new year on the “Shibarium Tech” Telegram channel, DaVinci hinted at exciting developments that could potentially reshape the game for Shiba Inu in the upcoming year.
Praising the global Shiba Inu community for their resilience and unity during recent tough times, DaVinci highlighted the community’s role as the backbone of the project’s progress, especially in supporting the Layer 2 network, Shibarium. This support is seen as crucial for the network’s advancement.
DaVinci then shifted focus to the developer team’s plans for 2024, emphasizing that the upcoming year will bring significant changes to the Shiba Inu world. He assured the community that the Shibarium team is behind them, preparing for an exciting journey ahead.
With a promise of a memorable new year, DaVinci called on the SHIB army to contribute to making 2024 a year filled with milestones and breakthroughs, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
The token-burning platform Shibburn reported that in 2023, over 76.4 billion SHIB tokens were transferred to unusable wallet addresses, effectively removing them from circulation. Moreover, in the last 24 hours, the token burn rate for SHIB surged by an astonishing 2,552%, with 129.71 million SHIB tokens moved to unusable wallets.
These burns were largely driven by the Shiba Inu community’s efforts, with the developer team also playing a significant role by transferring more than 36 billion SHIB to unusable addresses in November and December of the previous year. The burned SHIB originated from transaction fees allocated on Shibarium, initially paid in BONE tokens but later converted to SHIB for burning.
