An unexpected infrastructure transition involving the Shibarium explorer, known as ShibariumScan, caught the attention of the Shiba Inu community recently. Advisor Mazrael opened up about this transition after users observed the explorer’s familiar branding and Shibnames functionality had vanished, stirring widespread curiosity.
What Happened to Branding?
Mazrael declared on August 12 that ShibariumScan was functional again and efficiently indexing data. However, the loss of branding and Shibnames features left enthusiasts speculating about possible technical hurdles.
Elaborating further, Mazrael explained that the explorer’s infrastructure was adjusted on August 11, moving to a Cloudflare-backed network. This involved changing the Domain Name System (DNS) settings, which previously pointed directly at the server. On August 11, the configuration switched to a proxied mode, delineating a new pathway for the explorer.
He described this as a significant infrastructure migration, attributing the explorer’s standard, non-customized state to these changes. As a consequence, earlier branding was eliminated, and the system’s capacity for data backfilling ceased with this shift.
Is the Domain Still Secure?
Yes, the domain remains secure. Observing additional activities on August 11, Mazrael noted the Shibarium domain remains viable until August 1, 2027, and retains active locks for all four domain transfers, enhancing security further.
Mazrael noted, “V3 Factory nonce 441 to 483, 42 more pools, 69 created in the last 24 hours. I sampled 25 of them: none with any real trading, and 0.0000 WBONE liquidity across all 25.”
Despite the platform housing a flurry of new pools, Mazrael pointed out that they have not witnessed any noteworthy trading activities or liquidity increases. While the infrastructure appears stable, ecosystem participation concerning the explorer has not seen a corresponding surge.
