Ethereum’s shift to a Proof of Stake model has dramatically enhanced its scalability and cost-efficiency, Buterin explains. This technical evolution is supported by advancements like ZK-EVM technologies and PeerDAS, while Layer-2 solutions contribute further speed and efficiency. The improvements in messaging are underscored by the transition from Whisper to the widely adopted Waku, evidencing significant strides in decentralized communication quality.
Fileverse offers a practical example of decentralized application architecture. It harnesses Ethereum and Gnosis Chain for identity and authorization while enabling decentralized file exchange.
An essential concept introduced by Buterin is the “walkaway test.” This implies robust decentralization, ensuring users maintain access to their data even if the platform fails, via an open-source interface.
