In a bold declaration, the prominent XRP Whale has asserted that individuals holding over 5,000 XRP could potentially become millionaires, igniting a fervent discussion within the XRP community. The claim, presented on the platform X, suggests that this amount of XRP could transform into a substantial fortune in the long run.
XRP Valuation Under Scrutiny
Central to this assertion is the need for XRP’s price to skyrocket to $200 to make 5,000 XRP equal to $1 million. This sparked debates not only about the quantity but also about the realism of this ambitious target.
XRP Whale contends that those holding more than 5,000 XRP will “save their lives” and achieve millionaire status.
Some users challenged this view. For instance, a user named Pablo pointed out that, based on XRP’s current pricing, the value of 5,000 XRP is far from reaching $1 million. Assuming an XRP price of $1.50, this amount translates to only $7,500.
Community’s Divergent Opinions
Another user, HenriPcr, highlighted XRP’s divisible structure, stating that the cryptocurrency can be split into smaller units known as “drops.”
Mini glossary: A “drop” is the smallest unit of account in the XRP network. One XRP can be divided into 1 million drops, and transaction fees are often measured in these units.
HenriPcr added that even if XRP surged hypothetically to $10,000, a drop would only be worth 1 cent. He also noted that typical transaction fees on the XRP Ledger stand at about 10 drops. Known for facilitating payments and asset transfers, the XRP Ledger is a blockchain-based network associated with the Ripple ecosystem.
XRP must reach a price of $200 for 5,000 XRP to equate to $1 million.
Implications of a $200 Price Target
Achieving such a level would require a dramatic climb considering XRP’s recent trading range of $0.50 to $2.50, calling for an increase of roughly 100 to 400 times its current value.
A price of this magnitude would significantly inflate XRP’s market capitalization. With approximately 62 billion XRP in circulation, a $200 valuation would extend the total market cap to around $12.4 trillion. Using the maximum supply of 100 billion XRP, it would lead to a fully diluted capitalization of $20 trillion.
Factors Required for This Scenario
Realizing such a valuation would likely necessitate growth beyond ordinary market dynamics. Notable increases in institutional adoption, widespread tokenization of real-world assets, or a sharp rise in international payments utilizing XRP could contribute to this outcome.
However, none of these scenarios confirm the certainty of 5,000 XRP reaching $1 million. The discourse around this claim centers more on expectation than on solid evidence-backed results.
