ZeroStack, a company listed on the Nasdaq, is expressing serious concerns about its sustainability over the next year. This new perspective, revealed in a recent SEC Form 10-Q filing, contrasts with its more optimistic outlook from a quarter ago.
Mounting Financial Challenges
The financial picture for ZeroStack is grim. On June 30, the company held just $2.6 million in cash, grappling with a negative working capital of $600,000 and a staggering accumulated deficit of $339.1 million. In the first half of 2026, ZeroStack encountered a net loss of $61.3 million, compounded by an $82.5 million hit to the fair value of its digital assets.
These setbacks primarily hinge on the faltering valuation of Zero Gravity (0G) tokens, its primary asset. Despite holding 75.1 million of these tokens purchased for $163.3 million, their market value plummeted to $15.2 million by June’s end, marking a drastic 91% loss.
Are Revenue Streams Sufficient?
ZeroStack’s revenue comes mainly from staking rewards and selling tokens, both heavily dependent on 0G token performance. In the first half of the year, it earned $3.8 million from staking, receiving 6.6 million 0G tokens after commission fees. The company offloaded nearly 4.9 million tokens, netting $2.4 million to cover expenses.
Looking ahead, ZeroStack plans to utilize its cash reserves and additional token sales to fulfill its commitments. However, management has acknowledged that these measures may not suffice to achieve financial stability. The firm’s liquidity is inherently tied to the volatile 0G market, posing a significant risk if conditions worsen.
ZeroStack’s management stated that while they expect operating costs can be covered through cash and sales of staking rewards, they cannot conclude with confidence that these actions will fully resolve continued operational doubts.
The company’s trajectory has shifted from its early 2026 SEC filing when it appeared more optimistic about meeting financial obligations with its cash flow and staking revenue.
Originally founded as Flora Growth, the company transitioned from a cannabis-focused operation to the digital asset sphere, securing $401 million for its Zero Gravity initiative just before rebranding to ZeroStack. This included $35 million in cash and the remainder in non-cash digital assets, marking a strategic shift towards crypto treasury management.
After securing $401 million in 0G-related funding, ZeroStack transitioned from its cannabis business to focus solely on crypto treasury management.
