Following the rise in cryptocurrency values, the NFT sector also started to gain momentum. However, recently, suspicions of a major NFT theft in the market have created a bombshell effect.
Within an hour, dozens of NFTs are believed to have been stolen by a specific address. While suspicions of an attack on the NFT trading platform NFT Trader shook the market, transfers of many significant NFTs were observed on Etherscan.
An unidentified hacker (0x90…8fda) appears to have stolen NFTs worth approximately 2.4 million dollars in today’s value, equating to 1,080 ETH. Among the stolen items are 37 Bored Ape Yacht Club, 13 Mutant Ape Yacht Club, 4 World OF Women, and 6 VeeFriends NFTs. NFT Trader has issued statements urging users to revoke the platform’s authorization as soon as possible.
It is reported that the thief has not yet made any transactions with the stolen NFTs. The fate of these NFTs is likely to become clear in the coming hours or days. It will be beneficial for investors to be vigilant during this period.
After the rise in cryptocurrency values, NFTs have started to come back into the spotlight. Projects created on the Solana (SOL) network, in particular, have started to stand out and are among the most anticipated. Nevertheless, Ethereum-based projects seem to be searching for their former peak periods.
