With the increasing interest in the cryptocurrency market these days, Funko, a collectible item manufacturer, announced the launch of NFT trading card packs in collaboration with Disney, one of the world’s largest media companies. It was reported that users could enjoy Pop! figures on the WAX blockchain network.

Funko Pop! is famous for its physical collection products, and some of these items find buyers in the secondary market for up to $100,000. The collectible items bring collectors together with characters from popular series such as Marvel, Star Wars, and DC Comics.

As part of this collaboration, a new Funko Digital Pop! collection series featuring Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck was introduced. The digital NFT card packs were released at 19:00 on December 12th. Those who purchase the NFTs will also have the chance to own a rare physical Funko Pop! figure.

William Quigley, co-founder of WAX, stated in his announcement about the collaboration that despite the bear market in the crypto space, NFT technology has been experiencing promising developments. He mentioned that collecting digital collections and extracting NFTs from them is fun, and that Funko’s linking of digital collections to physical ones has further increased this enjoyment.

The executive expressed his belief that the trend of traditional companies benefiting from the Web3 space will continue, and he emphasized that successful applications will bring companies back.
