The Shibarium X account, an integral part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has not issued any updates since July 13, 2026. This prolonged silence has reignited debates within the community about how official communication channels are managed. The lack of communication is concerning, especially since the account is a vital source for updates and announcements related to Shiba Inu’s layer 2 network developments.
Community Management Concerns Intensify
A longstanding community member, Mazrael, recently asserted via an X post that certain individuals have access to the main Shiba Inu social media accounts, suggesting the Shibarium account is deliberately being kept inactive. Mazrael’s claims bring into question why the account hasn’t offered regular updates if access and activity could be maintained.
Given the Shibarium account’s role as a primary communication channel for the layer 2 network updates, its months-long silence has created uncertainties regarding who is in charge and when the normal flow of communications might resume.
Community member Mazrael suggested some individuals have access to official Shiba Inu accounts and that the Shibarium account has been intentionally muted.
Network Activity Slowdown Continues
Shibarium serves as a layer 2 blockchain network aimed at reducing transaction costs and enhancing the overall efficiency of the Shiba Inu network. However, recent data indicates that activity on the network hasn’t gained significant momentum, with on-chain engagements remaining limited amid a lackluster market landscape.
As of the latest data from Shibariumscan, daily transaction volumes stand at approximately 1,020, a notable decline from the October 31 peak of 6,370. Meanwhile, developers are purportedly executing quiet backend updates as part of an overarching network restructuring effort.
A notification on Shibariumscan’s homepage reveals that the indexing process on the network is still ongoing, with 65% of blocks indexed. Despite these ongoing technical efforts, the communication void leaves community members with unresolved questions.
SHIB Price Faces Downward Pressure
Market data shows that SHIB has fallen by 1.15% over the past 24 hours, landing at $0.00000445. Considering the sluggish price action alongside the steady network activity, caution remains the prevailing sentiment within the Shiba Inu ecosystem in the short term.
Shibariumscan data suggests daily transactions remain at 1,020, with 65% of blocks indexed.
Unless an official statement is issued, questions about who manages the account and why the silence persists are expected to continue within the community.
