In a surprising move, Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, declared the discontinuation of ten trading pairs along with the removal of six tokens from its platform during August. These proactive measures come as part of Binance’s ongoing efforts to maintain an optimal trading environment by conducting regular assessments of its offerings.
What Trading Pairs Are Being Removed?
Binance announced the delisting of four primary spot trading pairs: QNT/BTC, RPL/USDC, SIGN/BNB, and SKL/USDC. These removals will be executed on August 7 at 03:00 UTC. Regular evaluations, reportedly focusing on liquidity and trading volumes, serve to prevent substandard trading conditions. Inadequate performance in these metrics often leads to the elimination of trading pairs, thus safeguarding the interests of their users.
When Will Tokens Be Taken Off?
Scheduled for later in the month, the delisting of six cryptocurrencies, including Across Protocol (ACX), Hashflow (HFT), PIVX (PIVX), Vulcan Forged PYR (PYR), Vanar (VANRY), and Viction (VIC), is planned. The trading of these tokens will draw to a close on August 17 at 03:00 UTC. Consequently, deposits of these tokens will be halted after August 18, with a final withdrawal deadline set for October 17.
Notably, Binance pinpointed its refusal to support an upcoming contract swap as the rationale for Vanar (VANRY)’s removal from the list. The company’s emphasis on protecting participants and preserving quality performance remains a cornerstone of these actions.
As part of the adjustments, Binance has asked users employing Spot Trading Bots linked to impacted pairs to reconfigure or disable these bots to prevent unforeseen financial losses before the halting date. Spot Copy Trading will also suspend affected pairs on August 10.
- Spot Trading affected pairs: QNT/BTC, RPL/USDC, SIGN/BNB, and SKL/USDC to suspend in early August.
- Full removal of ACX, HFT, PIVX, PYR, VANRY, and VIC tokens, with trading ending mid-August and withdrawals concluding mid-October.
- Futures contracts linked to these tokens to close entirely on August 8 with automatic settlements.
The delisting announcement emphasizes an unwavering commitment from Binance to maintain high standards within the cryptocurrency arena. Their meticulous monitoring and ability to make pivotal adjustments reflect an overarching strategy to ensure secure and efficient trading experiences. As Binance navigates these changes, users are encouraged to remain informed and adapt promptly to the evolving crypto landscape.
